Manila-born John Lloyd Cruz is a multi-talented actor, model and television host recently named the third most powerful celebrity in the Philippines by Summit Media's Yes! Magazine. Teen movies and TV shows in his native Phillippines launched his early acting career.
Today, Cruz has evolved as both a leading man and a versatile dramatic actor, earning him the title, "Philippine's Box Office King." His work has won him industry recognition with nominations for best Actor/FAMAS Award for "One More Chance" and Best Supporting Actor/FAMAS Award for "Dubai", and as recipient of the FAP Award as Best Actor for "All About Love" and the Gold Screen Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Lead Role (Drama) for "One More Chance."
Cruz has often been paired with such well-known leading lady talents as Kaye Abud, Bea Alonzo and Sarah Geronimo. His recent film and television screen roles include "T.2", "You Changed My Life", "I Heart Betty La Fea", "My Only U", "A Very Special Love" and "All About Love".
Nicknamed Lloydy, Cruz is a member of Koolits with Baron Geisler and Marc Solis. In 2006 he was launched as a member of the all-male group Coverboy and is also a Batch 5 alumni of Star Magic.
